The Farinera was raised over the former ‘Molí del Mig’ (middle mill), one of the three flour mills that existed in the medieval town of Castelló d’Empúries. Its present appearance, a noteworthy three-story building, and the machinery it houses are the result of the industrialisation process, which entailed the technical and constructive transformation of the old mill around 1860, becoming a factory that will revive part of the machinery 90 years later.
